LearningGuide Manager

LearningGuide Manager is a single-source authoring environment that enables organisations to develop proprietary Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS) and other sophisticated learning support solutions. It has a familiar user interface with a WYSIWYG environment in which you can create learning objects either from scratch or by importing existing text and images.

NEW: LearningGuide Manager 6.4

With LearningGuide Manager 6.4 LearningGuide Solutions introduces several new options:

  • Unicode Publishing - Allows publishing of learning and support content in e.g. the Eastern-European languages.
  • Author-only license - LearningGuide Manager license with authoring features only, including Flowchart Editor.
  • Publish-only license - LearningGuide Manager license with Table of Contents and publishing options only.
    • Note: Both licenses require a minimum purchase of one LearningGuide Manager Professional license.

Rapid Content Development

The process of creating new content objects has been greatly simplified by the addition of LearningGuide Manager’s New Object Wizard. Quickly create a series of Learning Object, Deeper References, Reading Spaces or External Content objects.
To manage the content, you can categorise, annotate, flag and change the status of learning objects. These features make it easier to organise and review content throughout the development cycle. You can also enable true object reuse by including objects in multiple publications. To reuse an object, simply drag-and-drop it into a new publication, and the system will manage the links automatically.

Extented File Support

The built-in graphical editor allows you to create ‘hotspots’ and link them to topics, websites and e-mail addresses. You can import Flash (SWF) files, AVI files, and PowerPoint presentations and embed them within the final publications. You can use the hyperlink editor to create links to files hosted in a central location or on your intranet. LearningGuide Manager provides enhanced support of 3rd-party file extensions including PDF, MS Office, Flash, Captivate, WMV, and other file types.

Multi-format

The publishing functionality enables output to multiple formats from a single content source. The current publication formats include LearningGuide EPSS (html), books (pdf), Windows Help File (CHM) and e-learning courses (SCORM-compliant html). With the latest version of LearningGuide Manager you can also publish content for delivery to mobile platforms such as Blackberry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile.
For each format, you can configure a number of options in order to tailor the publication to the specific needs of your organisation. You can also choose from several (standard available) graphical user interfaces or have a custom look and feel set developed to match your own corporate branding.

Flowchart Editor

Create embedded, component-based flowcharts in the Flowchart Editor tool. Reuse flowcharts and flowchart styles within or across your EPSS projects.

Methodology

LearningGuide Solutions’ methodology is integrated into the LearningGuide Manager authoring environment to enable rapid development and deployment of performance support solutions.

Standard and Professional Versions

LearningGuide Manager is available in a Standard and Professional version. Standard provides all of the necessary functions, including one publication format of choice. The Professional version includes the ‘all-in-one’ licensing option which includes all of the Standard functions plus the Flowchart Editor and 5 different output formats (html, pdf, SCORM-compliant html, chm and mobile).
